why do the american people require "some" of its famous entertainers, politicians, etc. to maintain semi-pristine images while we as individuals do and say all the foul things we bash others for doing? and why, do we scrutinize to such an extent that people lose their entire life's worth because of one mistake? i'm really tired of hearing about tiger's infedelity (he did a screwed up thing to his WIFE, NOT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OR TAG HEUER OR SCHICK OR NIKE). so, the nigga can't sell a razor cuz he parties hard and cheats?! that doesn't mean he don't know how to shave!! lol! i understand the severity of his actions but don't u kind of feel like we shouldn't be privy to that kind of info anyway? shouldn't this be a private matter between him and his wife? he's still a great athlete, thats what we know him for and that's what we should focus on.

i feel the same way about chris. he and rihanna are so young to have this black cloud over their lives and careers. while i think they both jumped back on the scene maybe a little too early (i think time should've been given to the public to forget cuz we most certainly do FORGET) and recently there's been a lot of re-hashing for the sake of album promo (i understand the defensive mechanisms on his part but her 20/20 interview? mad late!! "what's my motivation?" "c'mon son"...) i think everyone needs to "woo-sah" right quick because this was a personal matter that should've been dealt with as such. who are we to make judgements about what others do? i can name at least 5 very powerful men who were drug abusers, women-beaters, cheaters, liars, etc that successfully led this country or to this day still make us move to their music. people should be allowed to make mistakes, learn and grow; that is life.

when did EVERYTHING become "our" business?

11.12.09

awwwww, stevie!!!

that made me both sad and happy...  what a magical man michael was! to incite such love in the hearts of all who heard, watched or learned from him; to truly "do" for others? that's the meaning of life.

"C'MON SON..."

BOSSIP MADE SOME DISPARAGING COMMENTS IN REGARDS TO KERI'S STOMACH IN THESE PICS. WTF BOSSIP?! REALLY? THE MEDIA HAS NEVER HESITATED TO GENERALLY SCRUTINIZE WOMENS PHYSICAL APPEARANCE BUT DAMN, IF KERI'S FAT WHAT DOES THAT MAKE THE AVERAGE WOMAN?! KERI LOOKS GREAT! WOMEN COME IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES AND THAT IS WHAT IS SO WONDERFUL ABOUT PEOPLE IN GENERAL: THEIR DIVERSITY. SO, RICK ROSS CAN TAKE OF HIS SHIRT BUT "KERI NEEDS TO HIT THE GYM NEXT TIME SHE GOES SHIRTLESS"?! C'MON SON!

I WOULD DRIVE THIS...

No fair, they started it!

While everyone likes to comment on Black women and their "weaves, wigs and hairpieces" can i remind you that wearing fake hair is not a trend we created? It started with the Egyptians and crossed over to many other cultures including the Greeks, Romans, Japanese and Chinese. The trend went dark for a while and was revisited and popularized by the Europeans because most people took to shaving their heads to combat the head lice epidemic.
Even in the 40's, my Grandma Sadie was making hairpieces for rich white women not rocking 'em!
Flash forward to now. Koreans have completely taken over the fake hair industry and made purchasing "a new look" not only affordable but quite accessible (there's a beauty supply within a 1 mile radius of everything in Los Angeles). And it's not only Black women who are taking advantage of it...

It's not just a "Black woman-thing"!

Am I the only one...

that loves Solange with short hair?

ALL THE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT...

TRUE BLOOD!
1. THE FACT THAT ITS NOT A "BLACK SHOW" OR A "WHITE SHOW". ITS SIMPLY A GOOD SHOW.
2. ITS SUPERNATURAL BASIS (LORD KNOWS I LOVE ANYTHING SCI-FI, FANTASY, ETC).
3. THE CREATIVITY OF THE WRITING (EVERY WEEK THEY TAKE ME ON AN AWESOME JOURNEY FROM WHICH I HATE TO RETURN).
4. THE LACK OF HIDDEN POLITICAL OR MORAL AGENDAS (THERE ARE SOME VERY STEREOTYPICAL CHARACTERS BUT HALF WAY THROUGH WATCHING YOU DON'T CONTINUE TO THINK OF THEM AS SUCH. YOU START TO SEE THEIR INDIVIDUALITY).
5. OH YEAH, AND MAYBE THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT:
