The realistic and comparative styles of artist Kehinde Wiley will see itself presented in Los Angeles this Saturday. The “World Stage” show focuses on residents of Rio de Janerio in Brazil. Away from any glitz and glamour, Willey appropriates the residents in an interesting light as the personalities are seen on some unconventional backdrops away from the usual slums and shanty-towns. The locally sourced floral and textile backgrounds offer a nice juxtaposition in both representation and color. Some special hand-carved frames surround each painting which feature engraved images of birds and flowers. The April 4th show takes place at the ROBERTS AND TILTON Gallery.

My trip to Honor Fraser for the KAWS exhibit was awesome!

Yo... I was taken aback by his attention to detail! I can't wait to cop some of his pieces for my future pad! I should've made it to the opening so I could've bought some prints for my apt, they're fresh out now :( Anyway, it was so much fun. I encourage you to drop by before its gone!
